About Me: A Local Mom’s Guide to Croatia

Hi, I’m Diana!

I’m a wife, a mom to two beautiful girls (currently 6 years and 8 months old), and a preschool teacher with over 10 years of experience working with children. I live in the heart of Zagreb, and I’ve spent my life exploring the hidden corners of Croatia.

Our Journey: Learning to Travel with Kids

Most people have a “travel life” as a couple that slows down once children arrive. For us, it was the exact opposite.

We married right after college, and back then, our budget didn’t allow for big adventures. By the time our first daughter was born, our situation had changed and so did our perspective.

Instead of waiting for the perfect time when the kids were older, we dove into family travel from day one. Family organization became our second language.

Why I Started This Blog

While researching trips abroad, I noticed a pattern. I could find plenty of “top 10” lists, but I rarely found the practical deep dives a parent actually needs.

I didn’t just want to know what to see; I wanted to know the logistics. Where is the nearest stroller-accessible path? How do I keep a toddler engaged during a long tour? How do we balance a budget without sacrificing the experience?

I realized that my background as a preschool teacher gives me a unique lens. To families, the world is a classroom.

The “Preschool Teacher” Edge

I believe travel is the best way to fuel a child’s natural curiosity. My goal is to show you how to blend adult-friendly sightseeing with kid-friendly adventure.

  • The Secret: It’s all in the approach. Climbing the Dubrovnik City Walls isn’t just a boring walk if you’re counting stairs, searching for local cats, or playing a scavenger hunt.
  • The Strategy: I research every step of the way to ensure our time is as stress-free as possible. I know what to skip based on a child’s age, and I know when (and when not) to visit certain spots to avoid the midday meltdown.

My Mission for You

My friends and family have always come to me for recommendations, and now I’m sharing that local insider knowledge with you. Whether you are exploring my home city of Zagreb or planning a road trip down the Dalmatian coast, I’m here to provide:

  • Practical Organization: Real-world logistics for families.
  • Educational Play: How to make Croatian history and nature fun for little ones.
  • Budget-Friendly Tips: Maximizing your experience without breaking the bank.

The world is beautiful and ready for your family to explore it. Let’s start here in Croatia, one adventure at a time.
